CHARTER AND REGATTA HUB

A sea of experiences! Meet the charter and regatta hub you will not want to leave. Not even by boat.

The most indented part of the Adriatic is the one alongside the coastline of the Zadar region, specifically the area around Biograd. The region has several top-notch marinas in the area, but Marina Kornati is undoubtedly one of the best in the country.

With its hundreds of vessels owned by dozens of companies, high-end technical equipment, range of maintenance services, advanced eco-systems and pristine Blue Flag status, it has been regarded as one of the leading charter destinations on the Adriatic Coast. With over 40 annual regattas of all classes, over 30 sailing flotillas and ten thousand lovers of sailing attending each year, Biograd Marina Kornati is also the biggest regatta centre of Northern Dalmatia and a favourite gathering spot of many recreational and professional sailors, who often develop long-lasting friendships over a terrific meal in the superb local restaurant, recounting tall tales of their experiences from the sea.

UNINHABITED AND CAR-FREE ISLANDS

Say no to cars, yes to adventure

Meet the islands where everyone is welcome, except cars. Enjoy the pristine nature – for example, lie under the shiniest stars! These islands are very special for many reasons, but what they all have in common is that they offer a different kind of experience – no cars. Become one with nature and get a feeling of how people used to live!

One of the most famous ones is the Island of Silba. During the summer they are even bike-free. Luckily, you can see the best attraction by foot – the Toreta - a viewing tower with an external spiral staircase erected by Captain Petar Marinić in the 19th century in memory of his dearly missed love.  Afterwards, take a swim in one of the many hidden bays or rent a boat to reach Silba’s Pernastica Valley! Its neighbouring island is Olib, also known as a stress-free and car-free zone. It has a long history that goes back to the Roman times, but it’s maybe best known for its quality products such as cheese, wine and olive oil – the results of unpolluted nature. In addition to the architectural must-see spots, Olib is special because of one more thing – fresh water from Velebit’s springs. Speaking of natural attractions, we have to mention the Island of Vrgada. The best description would be “Mediterranean like it used to be”. Get into slow motion on the golden sand beaches, pine forests and beautiful fields. Learn what it means to relax the Croatian way
